Biogas Digester Geomembrane: A Core Material for Seepage Control in Environmental Engineering
Biogas digester geomembrane is an indispensable key seepage control material in biogas projects. Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) as the core raw material, with added anti-aging agents, carbon black, and other auxiliary materials through a special process, it has become a preferred material for rural energy construction and pollution control in livestock farms due to its superior performance.
Its core advantages are concentrated in three main characteristics: First, excellent seepage control performance with an extremely low permeability coefficient, effectively preventing leakage of fermentation liquid and biogas, protecting the soil and groundwater environment while improving biogas collection efficiency; second, outstanding durability, possessing strong resistance to acids and alkalis, UV radiation, and tearing, resisting the erosion of organic acids, ammonia nitrogen, and other corrosive substances during biogas fermentation, adapting to outdoor temperature changes, and having a service life of 10-20 years; third, combining construction and economy, its high flexibility can adapt to minor foundation settlement, and the integral seepage control layer is formed through hot-melt welding during laying, simplifying the process and reducing costs by approximately 50% compared to traditional concrete seepage control.
With a wide range of specifications, thicknesses from 0.3mm to 3mm and widths from 1m to 8m, the product can be flexibly selected according to the size and depth of the biogas digester. A top membrane thickness of ≥1.5mm is recommended, while the bottom membrane can be 1.0mm-1.2mm. During construction, proper foundation cleaning, standardized welding, and edge anchoring are essential. Using a geotextile protective layer can further extend its service life. As a crucial support for ecological circular agriculture, biogas digester geomembranes promote the resource utilization of organic waste and contribute to a win-win situation of environmental protection and energy conservation, demonstrating broad application prospects.
